Won Weight Loss Challenge, Lost 35 lbs! Gabby Matus

 In October 2017, I joined a challenge to lose 35 pounds - a goal that I never thought I would be able to achieve. Master John pushed me when I needed to be pushed, and encouraged me when I needed to be encouraged. My workouts were different every session and were always challenging.

It was a mix of cardio, weights, and even some martial arts as well which was a lot of fun. I won my challenge, and I know it was all because of my training with Master John. I am looking forward to joining a new challenge soon so that I can crush my goals with the help of Master John!

 I first started working out with John a few months after my daughter joined his taekwondo (TKD) class. I was already driving an hour each way 2-3 times a week, so I signed up too. I had worked my tail off in TKD and tried several diet programs. I successfully lost 50 lbs but gained 40 lbs back (210 to 160 back to 190). About 3 years into TKD, John began to offer personal training. He knew the struggles that I had with my weight and that TKD alone was only maintaining my weight.  

Challenge accepted! John takes time to evaluate your strengths and weaknesses and works with you to reach your goals. He cares about your health, has training in nutrition and physical therapy, he pushes you for your best, knows your limits and encourages you to get the most of your workout. Most importantly, John does a great job giving you the motivation to keep coming back. Once I began personal training with John, we started to see a noticeable difference in my clothes before any significant difference on the scale. It took about a year and a couple months of building muscle to come down 20 lbs (190 down to 170, sizes 10-12). I really wanted to see numbers drop on the scale, so I started to focus on portion control, drinking water and eating "healthier" snacks. We started to see a loss of 1-2 lbs a week, finally, I had passed my previous weight loss (160).   

Many thanks to John for all of his time and effort in helping me to achieve my goals, motivating me and pushing me to succeed. I look better and feel better at age 40 than I ever did in my 30's. I made it to 128 lbs and size 4 in Sept 2017. Almost a year later and maintaining at approximately 140 (+/- 3 lbs) and size 6/8. Challenge completed!

Each session lasts 45 minutes, and you can train individually or register with your friends or family members for a cost effective group program.
